Vancar was in the Freshmen Five on MTVu.
The Peasant video was in last weeks Freshmen five on MTVu. Although we didn’t win, the video got a great review from Lindsay over at MTVu’s Freshmen blog.

So this is totally how I am staging my next break-up. I’m just going to hire a huge fuzzy character to come and lie in bed between us, play this song, and say “Um yah. Sorry. We’re over.” How cute and funny. (And slightly kinky. Hm, yah. Might need to rethink.) I’m enjoying this video because it points out there is a humorous side to these tragic experiences as well. It’s sort of funny how they all end up being comparatively similar, no? Even though DeRose is sulking around in his hipster plaid and you’re feeling kind of sorry for him, when he wants to grab his girl’s hips and give her a cuddle and that bear is blocking the way… ridiculous. Like the way the distance between them is ridiculous. OMG. I think we just discovered a whole new layer to this video. This is the first I’ve heard of Peasant but it’s a pleasant discovery and I’m looking forward to checking out the rest of the LP “On the Ground.”

So Lindsay’s pick of the week (drumroll please)… definitely Peasant hands-down. It’s adorable and fun and appeals to me. (I am wearing a plaid shirt as I type this HELLO. No seriously. I am.)
